“We are not just participating in the rapid transformation of the mobility sector, we are driving it”

IFA International sat down with Vestel CEO Ergün Güler to talk about the Turkish company’s new mobility brand, Vestel Mobility, and the other innovations on display at IFA this year

In his keynote on Sunday, Mr Güler will demonstrate how Vestel is leveraging its extensive consumer electronics expertise to gain a competitive edge in the evolving mobility landscape.

What can you tell us about your new mobility brand, Vestel Mobility?
Backed by our many years of experience and manufacturing capabilities, Vestel Mobility supports sustainable transport systems with a comprehensive range of electric vehicle chargers while aiming to provide the infrastructure to contribute to the increasing adoption of electric vehicles.

In addition to our AC series, we have a DC series featuring 60kW, 120kW and 150kW fast type charging stations as well as those with stronger outputs for ultra-fast charging applications.

Vestel Mobility is also a strategic supplier of the new vehicle ecosystem with a wide range of automotive solution products, including in-vehicle display solutions, electronic control units, power electronics, and connected vehicle solutions as well as cockpit electronics, electrical-electronic components, and power transmission components. In the battery solutions field, we produce high-quality battery packs that cater to a wide range of applications.

What message would you like to convey in your keynote presentation?
That Vestel is ready to lead the global mobility revolution. As we unveil the innovative products from our new company, Vestel Mobility, we are not just participating in the rapid transformation of the mobility sector, we are driving it. The industry is undergoing a paradigm shift, with traditional automotive development timelines being dramatically shortened, and Vestel is leveraging its extensive consumer electronics expertise to gain a competitive edge in this evolving landscape.

Our vision is clear: we expect exponential growth in the mobility market, particularly in electric vehicle components, charging stations, and energy storage systems. With Vestel Mobility, we will be a key player in the emerging electric vehicle ecosystem and at the forefront of the global mobility revolution.

What other Vestel innovations can visitors discover at IFA 2024?
The Microfibre Filter and Fibre Avoid technologies, which protect water sources by filtering microplastics; the Rainfall Technology washing machines, combined with the WaterBox system, which store rinse water for reuse; and the Pet Hair Shield and Aroma Refresh technologies that cater to pet owners.

Vestel’s A-60% Rainfall Technology washer-extractors and A+++ -22% Multi-Inverter+ Technology dryers offering significant energy savings. The Sonic Steam Drying Technology, clothes freshener, and the FastFlow programme, which reduces drying time.

Vestel’s AI-powered Washwizard and Intellicare AI technologies personalise the washing experience while its GreenCycle and Dose-On technologies dishwashers optimise energy and detergent dosage.

In the small household appliances category, we have the ECBC-certified Brew 50 coffee maker and the Barista Pro semi-automatic espresso machine, and the SM70 vacuum cleaner. And, in TV technologies, the Transparent TV.


Committed to sustainability

Vestel takes sustainability seriously, integrating sustainable practices across all of the company’s processes by focusing on energy efficiency, renewable energy, resource optimisation, and water management. “Our products, made from recycled and recyclable materials, are designed to be durable, repairable, and free of hazardous chemicals,” said Mr Güler.

Vestel’s sustainability mission is further demonstrated by the use of Biolive, a natural bioplastic made from olive seeds, in various products such as TVs and white goods, significantly reducing the use of petroleum-based plastics and carbon emissions. Additionally, Vestel has adopted FSC-certified recycled cardboard for packaging and expanded the use of bio-based materials. “Our commitment to sustainability has been recognised globally, with top rankings in S&P Global’s assessments, reflecting our leadership in creating positive value for both society and the environment.”
