CANVAS transcends the boundaries of traditional HiFi at IFA 2024

CANVAS is innovating HiFi with a system it claims to be “far superior” to a simple soundbar, combining high-end speaker construction, room correction, and BACCH 3D crosstalk cancellation to create “unparalleled” sound clarity, depth, and realism.

Meticulously designed and engineered as a high-end HiFi speaker system, the CANVAS system from CANVAS HiFi incorporates advanced SB Acoustics components such as a die-cast aluminum chassis and next-generation paper cone bass/midrange drivers. Its design integrates high-precision long excursion passive radiators and SB-CANVAS die-cast aluminum waveguide silk dome tweeters, creating zero-diffraction. The solid MDF cabinet, finished in satin black, features the innovative BridgeBrace structural bracing system for optimal resonance control. And, CANVAS houses a 4-channel Burr-Brown DAC and HiFi amplifier, complemented by Analog Devices DSP crossovers for precise sound tuning.

In addition, CANVAS is uniquely engineered to be placed against a wall or on the floor, enhancing bass response. However, traditional placement can result in a boomy sound. To address this, CANVAS integrates a room correction system via its iOS and Android apps. This technology leverages either the iPhone’s microphone or the Zen smart reference microphone for accurate measurements, ensuring superior bass performance.

The CANVAS system also overcomes the challenge of stereo crosstalk with BACCH 3D technology, a system that ensures true 3D stereo imaging by isolating sounds intended for each ear, rivaling the best standalone HiFi systems. Unlike other enhancements of its kind, BACCH 3D does not alter the original sound but instead removes auditory errors, enabling natural 3D perception. It also unpacks down-mixed Dolby Atmos, delivering stunning surround sound for movies.
