At the IFA Next Lounge this weekend, famous German dubber and podcast host Charles Rettinghaus recorded live two episodes of his bi-weekly “Hollywood Geflüster” (German for Hollywood Whispers) podcast. The podcast offers insights into the dubbing industry, featuring interviews with prominent voice actors who discuss their experiences, challenges, and techniques in bringing characters to life, while also allowing listeners to hear about interesting stories from the lives of these personalities, giving a look into the “World behind the voices”, according to Mr Rettinghaus.
On Saturday, he hosted famous German child and youth actor and dubber Patrick Bach, who became famous through his roles in German Christmas TV series “Silas” and “Anna” in the 1980s, and who more recently has been the German voice for famous characters like Samwise Gamgee in Lord of the Rings. Yesterday, long-time German soap star Wolfgang Bahro (“GZSZ”) was invited to the podcast.
