Kumtel: Big plans, with sustainability built-in

In an exclusive interview, IFA International spoke to Vice President of Kumtel, Osman Köseoğlu, to discuss the Turkish company’s priorities, its future and wider trends in the domestic appliance market

Built-in appliances are in the spotlight this year for Kumtel, and the company’s Vice President explained what makes these products so practical, and popular, for the today’s consumer.

Can you tell us about your product range on display at IFA this year? 
At Kumtel, we take pride in our extensive range of built-in appliances designed to meet the evolving needs of modern kitchens. Our current portfolio includes built-in ovens, hobs, hoods, extractor fans, and microwaves. We are also in the advanced stages of R&D for built-in refrigerators and dishwashers, which we plan to launch soon. Our products are developed with a focus on energy efficiency, not only during operation but throughout the manufacturing process. By integrating modern, minimalist design with advanced features like air frying and steam cooking, we ensure our products cater to the latest consumer demands for healthier and more sustainable cooking solutions. Our built-in sets are designed with both performance and aesthetics in mind. Key benefits include energy efficiency, ease of use, and cutting-edge cooking technologies such as air frying and steaming, which promote healthier eating habits. The minimalist and modern aesthetic of our appliances allows them to blend seamlessly into contemporary kitchen environments.

What can visitors to IFA experience on your stand?
Visitors to our stand at IFA Berlin can expect to see our latest innovations in built-in appliances, including live demonstrations of our energy-efficient cooking technologies. One of the highlights will be our 88 litre built-in oven, which offers the largest internal capacity in its class. Despite the increased cooking space, we have maintained and even enhanced energy efficiency both in the cooking process and production phase. This product perfectly encapsulates our commitment to delivering superior cooking performance while prioritising sustainability.

What are some of the main trends in the built-in appliance market at the moment?
The current trends in the built-in appliance market include a strong emphasis on energy efficiency, sustainable design, and smart technology integration. At Kumtel, we are at the forefront of these trends, with our products designed to maximise energy efficiency both in operation and production. A vision for the future in the industry

When asked about his Kumtel’s vision for the future, Mr Köseoğlu stated that the company aims to “lead the industry in developing innovative, energy-efficient, and sustainable appliances that cater to the evolving needs of consumers worldwide”. In line with this vision, Kumtel has a primary focus on energy efficiency and healthy cooking trends, which Mr Köseoğlu outlined are “of the utmost importance to our customers from various regions and dynamics.” Kumtel’s goal, at IFA and beyond, is to provide consumers with high-quality, affordable products that “not only enhance their cooking experience but also contribute to a more sustainable future.”
