A behind-the-scenes peek at Hall 25’s Reseller Park
A team of 90 hostesses work tirelessly to keep the Park’s 220 exhibitors fed and refreshed, and as head of the group, one young woman faces a particularly tall task.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of IFA Berlin’s Reseller Park, which debuted in 1997 and has grown ever since. But for this edition, the expansion is more impressive than ever, with twice as many exhibitors occupying what is now the entirety of Hall 25, in comparison to just half the hall in 2023.
Organised by Global Fairs, the space is dedicated to resellers and distributors, and represents a decided effort on behalf of sustainability by providing a dynamic B2B platform in favour of the expanding market, among other things, in refurbished goods.
Reseller Park 2024 features 220 exhibitors, up from 110 last year, including KOSATEC, ECOM, Trust, UFP Germany, Go Europe and Klick Entertainment, among many others.
The main theme this year is green tech and sustainable solutions in the consumer and electronics and ICT world, all of which is being driven by growing awareness and sensitivity to climate change, according to Jan Nintemann, Managing Director and Owner of Global Fairs.
In order for the show to go on — and run as smoothly as possible — exhibitors need to feel comfortable (and nourished), and the responsibility for this falls on shoulders of the Park’s 90 hardworking hostesses, who operate seven meeting areas, each with its own buffet and refreshments.
Every team needs a leader, and the person tasked with organising the hostesses this year is Catering Manager Fidane Trepca. “The goal is for the meetings to take place in a really relaxed atmosphere,” Ms Trepca told IFA international. “Global Fairs takes charge of everything so the exhibitors don’t need to worry about a thing. It’s a lot of work and it’s challenging”, she added. “But it’s also a lot of fun.”
