IFA 100 Years The Exhibition launches with vibrant Media Night festivities
Dr Sara Warneke wrapped up the first day of the IFA Kick-Off press event back in July with a message of celebration and innovation. She stated that “IFA 100 is a big festivity for the whole industry”, and stressed that while being one of the oldest industry trade shows in the world, IFA is truly innovating and reinventing itself this year. CEO of IFA Berlin Leif Lindner joined her on stage and backed up this sentiment stating that “IFA has always been a mirror of innovation and the current Zeitgeist”.
As they looked back at some of the key milestones of the history of IFA, Dr Sara Warneke and Leif Lindner opened the IFA 100 Years The Exhibition. Leif Lindner emphasised the importance of creating experiences around IFA: “Trade fairs today have to be much more than a 5-day programme in halls. There must be a cultural asset that moves and emotionally engages people. We therefore take IFA’s journey through time from its beginnings as the International Consumer Electronics Fair to today with Innovation For All.”
After opening the exhibition, Dr Warneke invited everyone to the IFA Media Night for an evening of fun and networking at the Spreegold restaurant and cocktail bar at the Bikini Berlin. Guests were treated to a wide variety of gourmet appetisers and treats as well as a range of cocktail and mocktail choices. The event was abuzz with positive responses to IFA’s new look and feel as well as the keynote presentations that set the tone for the show this year. A DJ ensured a steady flow of feel-good tunes and a giant transformer not only made an appearance but also contributed a few dance moves! Dr Sara Warneke said she was “delighted” that the IFA Kick-Off and Exhibition were attracting so much interest.
